Thai tourist shot at after money dispute in Udaipur, 4 accused on the run

A Thai tourist was injured after she was allegedly shot at following a dispute over money with four men at a hotel in Rajasthan’s Udaipur early Saturday morning, police said.
The incident came to light after the four accused left the injured tourist at the emergency gate of Pacific Hospital in the city and were caught on CCTV camera.
Police said that a car stopped right in front of the hospital’s emergency gate at around 4:15 am on Saturday, after which a young man got out of the car, went inside the emergency ward and came out with an attendant and a stretcher.
The hospital guard also arrived. After that, the men left the girl at the gate on a stretcher and fled the spot. The entire turn of events was caught on a CCTV camera installed at the hospital premises.
The doctors successfully removed the bullet from the woman’s ribs under her left arm after surgery.
As per the police, the woman was shot at following a dispute between her and the four men who were staying at the hotel and had called her to their room for escort services.
A heated argument took place between the parties over money.
The woman is in a stable and police have recorded the statements of the Thai tourist as well as the cab driver who left her at the hotel. The cab was booked by one of the accused men.
“The woman has told us that she is a resident of Thailand and had come to Udaipur with her friend on a tourist visa. Where both the friends stayed in a hotel with four young men. One of them called the girl to a hotel seven kilometers away and also booked a cab for her. After which the police identified the cab driver and interrogated him too,” Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal said.
“It has come to light that the girl was involved in escort services. The shots were fired after a dispute in the hotel room over something,” he added.
Police have identified the accused as Rahul Gurjar, Dhruv Suwalka, Akshay and another person and have launched a hunt to trace them.
A case has also been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and an investigation is underway.
